Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

The BIST 100 Index started Wednesday on a positive trend, but ultimately closed at 10,479.16, down 1.86%. The Industrial Index fell 1.93% and the Banking Index lost 3.18%. Since there are no significant short-term expectations for the BIST profit-taking is being monitored. Short-term momentum may be gradually weakening, but the medium-term rising trend prevails, with declines being considered buying opportunities. Profit-taking continued in global stock markets as the Fed's interest rate cut expectations were postponed, and the U.S., European and Asian Stock Markets closed yesterday with declines. This morning, the U.S. futures, Asian Stock Markets and German DAX futures have been negative. We expect global risk appetite to continue finding direction from incoming data and statements from Fed members. Today, revised U.S. GDP growth data for the 1st quarter will be followed. The VIOP30 Index ended the evening session up 0.11%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Thursday on a positive course, limited by reactionary purchases, and to observe fluctuation thereafter. SUPPORT: 10,400 - 10,200 RESISTANCE: 10,750 - 11,000.
