Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

The BIST100 Index started Thursday on a positive trend, maintaining it throughout the day. The Index peaked at a record high of 9,283, but closed the day at 9,242.15, up 1.87%. The Banking Index rose 1.20% and the Industrial Index gained 2.22%. Although the rising trend at the BIST is being maintained, we still expect selling in the short term. Many stocks have limited upside potential, and our 11,700 target for the BIST100 Index offers less than 30% upside potential. We still recommend selective stock picking at current levels. In addition, as foreign investor interest in the BIST prevails, we expect sharp withdrawals to be considered buying opportunities amid the continued transition to rational policies. The rise in global risk appetite also positively affects the money flow to EMs. On the global front, reactions continued yesterday. There is an attempt to recover the losses that followed U.S. CPI inflation data on Tuesday. The U.S. Stock Markets rose on Thursday, led by technology stocks, and European and Asian Stock Markets also closed positively. This morning, the U.S. futures are mixed, German DAX futures are sellers, and Asian Stock Markets are buyers (the New Year's holiday continues in China). In general, we expect economic data to continue shaping risk appetite. The VIOP30 Index ended the evening session flat. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Friday on a positive trend. Any intraday retreats will offer a buying opportunity, thus preserving the general uptrend. SUPPORT: 9,150 - 9,050 RESISTANCE: 9,310 - 9,500
