Outlook:
The BIST100 Index started Friday on a positive trend, scaling a new peak of 6,223.26 at the opening. The Index remained flat for the rest of the day closing at 6,187.09, up 0.75%. While the Industrial Index gained 1.46%, the Banking Index continued to diverge negatively, down 0.35%. On a weekly basis, the BIST100 rose by 7.43%, while the Industrial Index rose by 8.44% and the Banking Index rose by 1.06%. We think that it is reasonable to experience periodic profit realizations at the BIST, which has swiftly achieved a rapid rise. However, we think that the negative real interest rate policy, which will continue for some time yet amid gradual normalization, will remain supportive of the BIST in the short term. In the medium term market direction will become clear once the steps to be taken and the economic program are known. Weak economic data and Fed members' statements that interest rate hikes should continue suppress risk appetite in major global stock markets. Last week, major stock markets closed with decreases of between 1-4%. Although profit sales continue in the short term, the declines will likely be used as a buying opportunity given weakening recession concerns. The uptrend in the major stock markets should therefore continue. The U.S. and German DAX futures are slightly sold this morning, while Asian Stock Markets are mixed. The VIX dropped from 17 to 14, indicating that volatility and selling pressure in the U.S. Stock Markets has decreased again. We foresee expectations guiding the markets ahead of the CPI data to be announced on Wednesday in the USA. The VIOP-30 index closed the Friday evening session up 0.28%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start the day with a slightly positive trend and follow a fluctuating intraday course. Profit-taking will follow any uptrend. SUPPORT: 6,120 - 6,058 RESISTANCE: 6,242 - 6,330.
