The BIST-100 Index started Tuesday on a positive trend, encountered profit sales during the day, it regained its losses to test a new peak of 4,988. the Index closed the day at 4,962.48, up 0.80%. The Banking Index ended with a limited negative divergence of 0.05%. After the U.S. inflation data, the strengthening of global risk appetite lost momentum, and major global stock markets closed with a mixed outlook, close to flat. We expect profit sales, albeit limited, to occur in global stock markets after the short-term strong rise. However, global risk appetite will remain strong until the next Fed meeting and U.S. inflation data. Even though the BIST faced short-term profit sales on Tuesday, it continued its uptrend to recover its losses. Its uptrend seems set to continue, yet we think that the risk of short-term profit sales is mounting, as was the case yesterday. The fact that the BIST has become the primary investment instrument among TRY-based assets in an inflationary environment remains the driving force behind the Index rise. The upward revision of share target values with strong profit expectations and the strong demand of domestic investors have recently supported the uptrend in the Index. We expect this uptrend to continue in the medium term. However, it would not be surprising to see a short-term, hard profit sales in the Index, which has made a strong rise without any significant corrections over the past two months. Any profit sales would continue to present buying opportunities sustaining the uptrend until the next balance sheet period. The markets will follow growth data domestically and in the U.S. today. While the average market expectation for domestic 3Q22 growth is 4.00% annually, our forecast is 3.8%. If growth data in the USA prints weaker than expected today it may trigger profit sales in global stock markets. The VIOP-30 Index closed the evening session flat. Relative to the BIST close, the U.S. and DAX futures have observed a limited positive trend. There was a positive weighted trend among Asian Stock Markets. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start the day positively. This should prompt buying, thus sustaining the uptrend despite any intraday profit sales. SUPPORT: 4,939 - 4,844 RESISTANCE: 4,988 - 5,055.
