Market Watch(Şeker Yatırım)

The BIST100 Index started Wednesday positively, followed a fluctuating course and closed the day at 5,384.17, up 1.3%. The Banking Index diverged negatively, down 0.42%. While volatility in the Index has decreased, it persists nonetheless. Yesterday, President Erdoğan pointed to May 14 regarding the election date. If the elections are held in mid-May, the rise among companies with strong balance sheet expectations is expected to continue. A mixed course was observed among major global stock markets yesterday. Although PPI data announced in the USA printed below expectations and supported risk appetite, the fact that industrial production data fell short of expectations promoted sales in the markets as growth concerns increased. The U.S. and German DAX futures were negative this morning, while Asian Stock Markets were bullish. The VIX, at around 18 at the start of the week, rose above 20, indicating that selling pressure has increased. Today, the CBRT's interest rate decision will be followed domestically. Our expectation is for no changes, in line with market expectations. In addition, the messages to be given regarding the latest liraization strategy will be closely followed by the markets. The VIOP-30 Index closed the evening session down 0.45%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start the day negatively. Yet retracements during the day would present buying opportunities, thus preserving the uptrend. SUPPORT: 5,302 - 5,207 RESISTANCE: 5,424 - 5,478.
