Outlook:
The BIST100 Index started Friday on a positive trend and closed the day at 8,334.94, up 1.41%. While the Industrial Index rose by 0.83%, the Banking Index continued its positive divergence, up 2.94%. On a weekly basis, the BIST100 rose by 3.68%, the Industrial Index rose by 3.41%, and the Banking Index gained 6.89%. The TRY-based Index, which is at historically high levels, is expected to continue its rise if it technically exceeds these levels strongly. The expectation that Turkey's new economic policies will increase foreign interest continues to support the index. In its latest assessment of Turkey, S&P has confirmed Turkey's credit rating as "B" and increased its credit rating outlook from "negative" to "stable". We think that this development will be supportive of the BIST. However, the strengthening expectation that the rise in deposit rates will be an alternative to the BIST may pressure the index. Risk appetite continues to weaken on the global front. The Fed's continued hawkish stance and the expectation that rising energy prices will pressure inflation and cause interest rates to remain high for a long time weaken risk appetite. We expect risk appetite to remain guided by data. Major stock markets ended last week with an average decline of around 1%. This morning, the U.S. futures, German DAX futures, and Asian Stock Markets are trending positively. In China, markets are closed for local holidays. The VIX is moving near 17, if it rises above 20 selling pressure will increase. The VIOP-30 Index ended the evening session down 0.16%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start the day with a slightly negative trend. Any intraday decreases will be considered as a buying opportunity whereby the uptrend will continue. SUPPORT: 8,288 - 8,218 RESISTANCE: 8,404 - 8,520.
