Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

The BIST100 Index started Friday on a negative trend, remaining in a narrow band of 9,700 - 9,800 for the rest of the day, and closing at 9,777.46, down 0.53%. The Industrial Index and Banking Index completed the day down 0.41%. On a weekly basis, the BIST 100 Index ended a volatile week down 1.24%, while the Industrial Index lost 2.48%. The Banking index diverged positively, up 4.10%. The lack of short-term supportive expectations for the Benchmark Index and the weakening in announced company profits continue to pressure the BIST. On the global front, risk appetite is preserved. The U.S. stock markets completed the week with mixed trends after US personal consumption expenditures data printed below expectations on Friday. European indices ended the week up with the expectation that the incentive package announced in China and the interest rate cuts would continue. While Asian markets followed a mixed course this morning, the U.S. futures are priced positively and German DAX futures are priced slightly negatively. The VIOP30 Index closed Friday's evening session down 0.6%. Today, the speech of FED Chairman Powell at the National Association for Business Economics and the messages that ECB President Lagarde will give at the European Parliament will be followed. Domestically, all eyes will be on September inflation data to be announced on Thursday. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Monday flat, and to continue its fluctuating course thereafter. SUPPORT: 9,750 - 9,600 RESISTANCE: 9,850 - 10,000.
