Outlook:
The BIST100 Index started Wednesday on a positive trend, regressed with sales in the afternoon and closed the day at 5,186.83, down 1.23%. The Banking Index decreased by 0.21% and the Industrial Index by 1.00%. The expectations are for a return to rational policies, and that bank regulations will decrease, supporting the institutions. Today, the first Monetary Policy Committee Meeting will be held under new CBRT Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan. The market expectation is that the policy rate will be increased by 1,150 bps to 20%. As Seker Invest, we expect an increase of 1,000 bps in interest rates and a policy rate of 18.5%. We think that the statements and guidance to be included in the text, as well as the interest rate hike, will eliminate uncertainty over the monetary policy stance and be decisive for the markets over the medium term. In major global stock markets the rising trend is preserved while selling pressure continues, albeit slightly. After the rally ongoing since the start of the year, we think that profit realization is normal and that the rising trend will be maintained. Yesterday, the U.S., European and Asian Stock Markets closed the day with decreases. While the U.S. futures and German DAX futures continue their selling course, Asian Stock Markets are mixed. The VIX hovers around 13, indicating low volatility and selling pressure in the U.S. Stock Markets. The VIOP-30 Index closed the evening session up 0.52%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Thursday with a positive trend and follow a fluctuating intraday course. SUPPORT: 5,162 - 5,050 RESISTANCE: 5,270 - 5,378.
