Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

The BIST100 Index started Wednesday on a positive trend, but then followed a weak and fluctuating intraday course to close at 7,665.87, down 0.07%. While the Industrial Index shed 0.10%, the Banking Index rose by 0.38%. Despite the positive mood created by rational economic policies, limited foreign inflows, plus rising geopolitical risk and interest rates continue to pressure the BIST. U.S. PPI data was followed in global markets yesterday, which printing at 1.3%, was below expectations of 1.9%. And as risk appetite remained strong following the softening in inflation data, global stock markets closed the day with an increase. This morning, after the meeting between Biden and Xi, a decrease in risk appetite is observed. U.S. futures, German DAX futures, and Asian Stock Markets are on a downtrend. Today, capacity utilization rate and industrial production data in the USA and the statements of Fed members will be followed. We expect economic data, statements from Fed members, and geopolitical developments to continue impacting risk appetite. The VIOP-30 Index ended the evening session down 0.05%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Thursday with a positive trend amid continued reactionary purchases, albeit with low momentum. SUPPORT: 7,634 - 7,520 RESISTANCE: 7,738 - 7,820.
