After the news of the Kahramanmaras-centered earthquake the BIST100 Index started Monday negatively with the temporary deposit condition and short selling prohibition statements of the CMB and BIST. Trading fluctuated throughout the day and the Benchmark Index closed at 4,930.18, down 1.35%. Also yesterday, the trading queues of names operating in the region were closed to trading until it was announced to what extent their activities had been affected by the PDP announcement. Today, according to a CMB statement, while the deposit requirement is lifted, the ban on short selling remains in place. We expect market volatility to persist for the short term. On the global side, the stronger dollar has maintained its pressure on risk appetite. And while the U.S. and European Stock Markets ended yesterday amid decreases, a mixed course was observed in Asian Stock Markets. Today, global markets will follow Fed Chairman Powell's statements, where disclosures can have an impact on global risk appetite. The U.S. and German DAX futures were trading with a positive trend this morning, while Asian Stock Markets were mixed. Domestically, the VIOP-30 Index ended the evening session down 0.69%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start the day with a negative trend, with selling opportunities taken should any intraday rise occur. SUPPORT: 4,828 - 4,727 RESISTANCE: 5,030 - 5,114.
