• The BIST ended the final day of the week 3.08% higher at 7067, accompanied with a persuasive turnover of improved market sentiment of TRY 167.6bn, spearheaded by the gains in the Banks, whereas the REITs and Energy stocks lagged their peers. The appointment of 3 new Vice Chairs, following the investor friendly CBRT inflation assessment meeting for the first time by the new Governor, certified the new “All-Star” Economy team of the gradual normalization and return to orthodox policies.
• As such, the BIST rose by 5.67% on a weekly basis, thanks to the 12% gains in the Banks, whereas the USD appreciated by a quarter percent, but the TRY made gains against the Euro by 1.21%. The 2yr TR Bonds rose by 0.25% whereas the 10yrs’ fell by 1.75%.
• Today, we expect a positive opening, and may see the gains in KCHOL and the private Banks continue, as well as the Energy stocks.
• As of Friday’s close, the TRY is trading weaker against the USD at 26.95 against the USD, and a tad weaker against the Euro at 29.67 against the Euro, whereas the DXY has risen to 101.82, as of print.
