• Despite a positive and strong opening to the session, with the gains peaking at 9717, investors saw the buying appetite as an exit opportunity from potential risks, thus causing the BIST100 to close the day on a loss of 0.18% at 9530, and turnover of less than TRY 100bn at TRY 98.7bn.
• The Banks managed to diverge positively from their peers, thanks to GS’s report, with the exception of the State-Banks, whereas the Mining and REITs were the most sold sectors. The Industrial and Conglomerates also faced slight losses.
• GARAN-AKSEN and TCELL were yesterday’s most bought BIST30 stocks, whereas EKGYO-KOZAA/KOZAL and FROTO, were the most sold.
• On the BIST100 side, KCAER faced profit-takings after yesterday’s limit-up closing, and SOKM fell by nearly 7%, whereas AEFES’s new distribution deal helped the stock rise by a little over 3%.
• As of print, the USD is trading slightly weaker against the USD at 32.50, but weaker against the Euro at 34.71, while the DXY is has retreated to 105.83.
• The 2yr Bond rates fell by 22bps to 45.49%, whereas the 10yr rates rose by 186bps to 27.95%.
• On the commodity front, Brent is currently trading is trading slightly lower at the $87 ticker, while Ounce GOLD has risen to $2378.
• Türkiye’s Current Account Balance posted a deficit of $3.3bn, while the cumulative deficit accrued to $31.8bn.
AGENDA
• On the local side, the Foreigners’ Weekly Net STOCK/BOND Holdings will be released, while the US will be disclosing the Weekly Jobless Claims numbers, as well as the March Existing Home Figures.
FINANCIAL RESULTS
• EKGYO: Disclosed an annual net loss in 2023 of TRY 3.81bn vs a net gain of TRY 1.32bn in 2022. EBITDA was at TRY 4.84bn vs TRY 3.35 y/y.
• TKFEN: Disclosed an annual net loss in 2023 of TRY 1.15bn vs a net gain of TRY 1.39bn in 2022. The EBITDA was also at a negative TRY 808mn vs a positive figure of TRY 1.26bn in 2022.
• TTKOM: Disclosed an annual net income in 2023 of TRY 16.4bn vs TRY 6.91bn in 2022. The EBITDA was at TRY 32.65bn vs TRY 32.39 in 2022.
CORPORATE NEWS
• TRGYO: Disclosed that it sold its Torun Tower Ofis building to Denizbank for TRY 11.58bn+VAT.
