Market Watch(Şeker Yatırım)

The BIST 100 Index started Wednesday positively, but could not maintain its strength, following a selling trend for the rest of the day to close at 7,662.85, down 0.82%. While the Industrial Index lost 1.70%, the Banking Index diverged positively, up 1.60%. The Banking Index's positive move reflected the fall of the CDS to below 300, the determined implementation of rational policies, and expectations that foreign purchases would be led by bank stocks. However, selling pressure continues in industrial stocks due to expectations that inflation accounting will negatively affect companies, and that domestic demand will remain weak in the coming period denting balance sheets as a result. In addition, the rising attractiveness of alternative investment instruments and the rise in stock loan interest rates are also effective in the selling pressure and low volume seen across the BIST. We think that selling pressure may continue across the BIST in the short term, although sales can be considered as buying opportunities for the medium term. Risk appetite remains strong in global markets, yet profit taking was observed yesterday in the rapidly rising U.S. Stock Markets. This morning, the U.S. futures, German DAX futures and Asian Stock Markets are following a mixed course. As long as the data supports the perception that interest rate hikes have ended, we expect global risk appetite to maintain its strength. The rising trend in major stock markets will be maintained as withdrawals present buying opportunities. Today, markets will follow the 3Q growth data to be announced in the US. The CBRT interest rate decision emerges today. Both the market and our expectations are that the policy rate will be raised by 250 bps to 42.5%. Meanwhile, statements by the Central Banks of developed countries that the interest rate hike has come to an end have become more frequent. Therefore, it would not be a surprise if the CBRT makes no changes at this meeting. We will closely follow the details of the decision regarding future monetary policy. The VIOP-30 Index ended the evening session flat. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Thursday with a positive trend. Even if the retreat continues during the day, it will present a buying opportunity leading to a reactionary rise, albeit limited. SUPPORT: 7,620 - 7,530 RESISTANCE: 7,755 - 7,840.
