Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

Outlook:

The BIST 100 Index started Tuesday with reactionary purchases, but closed at 10,691.68, down 0.39%, led by sales in bank shares. While the Industrial Index gained 0.1% the Banking Index lost 2.61%. As the weak outlook for the Index continues the BIST will likely maintain a fluctuating course, with no significant expectation to support the markets in the short term. We also expect share-based divergences to come to the fore as 2Q24 financials emerge. In global markets, mixed trends are observed in major bourses ahead of the Fed's meeting this evening. Yesterday, the U.S. stock markets ended the day with mixed trends, while European counterparts followed a positive course, except for the U.K. The U.S. futures and German DAX futures follow a positive trend this morning, while Asian stock markets are mixed after the BoJ increased interest rates from 0.1% to 0.25% in line with market expectations. Today, markets will focus on the Fed's interest rate decision to be announced at 21:00 CET. The market expects the Fed to keep the interest rate constant in the range of 5.25-5.50%, and Fed Chairman Powell's post-meeting statements will be followed closely. The VIOP30 Index rounded off the evening session down 0.13%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Wednesday in bearish mood and continue a volatile course throughout the day. SUPPORT: 10,600 - 10,500 RESISTANCE: 10,800 - 10,900.
