Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

The BIST-100 Index started Thursday on a positive trend, reaching a historical intraday peak of 5,515.67 along a fluctuating course. The Index closed the day at 5,447.33, up 0.33%. In global markets, weekly jobless claims and core personal consumption expenditures from the USA led to perceptions that the Fed may continue to raise interest rates, thereby suppressing risk appetite. While European Stock Markets saw selling, their U.S. counterparts closed the day with a decrease varying between 1.05%-2.18%. We believe that risk appetite will continue to find direction in step with incoming data. After all, numerous central banks have stated that decisions to be taken in the upcoming period would be determined by macroeconomic readings. Personal income and spending data in the U.S. today could determine risk appetite. The BIST is currently the sole alternative investment tool among TRY-based assets in an inflationary environment, whereby profit-taking is experienced due to strong domestic investor demand. Sharp pullbacks will present buying opportunities for the medium term. The U.S. futures and German Dax futures were positive this morning. There was a selling trend among Asian Stock Markets. The VIOP-30 Index closed the evening session with a negative trend. Locally, the Benchmark Index is expected to start the day positively. Intraday rises will beg profit-taking, spelling fluctuation for the Index. SUPPORT: 5,396 - 5,312 RESISTANCE: 5,492 - 5,556.
