Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

The BIST100 Index started Monday on a negative trend, strengthened amid intraday purchases and closed at 10,054.20, up 2.36%. While the Industrial Index rose by 1.66%, the Banking Index diverged positively, up 4.00%. We think that the upward momentum may strengthen if the BIST100 Index remains above 10,000. Although the lack of expectations continues in the short term, the recently increased expectations of an agreement between Hamas and Israel to end the conflict may support the BIST. Statements on this topic will be followed closely. On the global front the strong trend continues in major stock markets. Yesterday, the U.S. and European stock markets closed with increases. This morning, German DAX futures are positive, while the U.S. futures and Asian stock markets are mixed. We think that global markets will continue to balance unless incoming data increases recession concerns. The CBRT’s interest rate decision will be announced today. Both the market's and our expectations are for no change in interest rates. In the decision text, recent developments regarding inflation and macro projections will be of note. The VIOP30 Index completed the evening session up 0.09%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Tuesday positively, and to continue its fluctuating course thereafter. SUPPORT: 9,750 - 9,600 RESISTANCE: 10,250 - 10,400.
