Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

The BIST100 Index started Monday on a slightly positive trend, closing at 5,269.31, down 3.77%. Stocks of high index weight such as THYAO, SASA and SISE made the highest negative contribution to the Benchmark Index on a point basis. Meanwhile the Banking Index fell 3.46% and the Industrial Index lost 3.80%. Although we expect the rapid post-election uptrend to continue, it is normal to experience profit-taking at certain levels. Yet, expectations that monetary and fiscal policies will normalize with the change in economic management continue to support Borsa İstanbul. We expect the announcements to be made and the steps to be taken in the coming period to guide the markets in the medium-long term. This week, all eyes are on the CBRT's meeting on Thursday. In major global stock markets risk appetite and a rising trend outlook are preserved. The U.S. Stock Markets were closed yesterday, while European and Asian Stock Markets ended the day amid decreases. This morning, the U.S. futures, German DAX futures and Asian Stock Markets are generally trading with sellers. The VIX hovers at around 14, indicating low volatility and selling pressure in the U.S. Stock Markets. The VIOP-30 Index closed the evening session down 0.04%. We expect the BIST100 to start the day with reactionary buying, and the fluctuating weak course seems set to continue with rises presenting opportunities for profit-taking. SUPPORT: 5,204 - 5,146 RESISTANCE: 5,322- 5,399.
