The BIST100 Index started Friday on a positive trend, closing the day at 7,993.85, up 2.31%. The Industrial Index and Banking Index rose by 2.29% & 1.40%. On a weekly basis, the BIST100 gained 1.01%, the Industrial Index lost 2.03%, and the Banking Index diverged positively, up 9.04%. Moody's was expected to publish Turkey's rating outlook assessment on Friday, yet announced that it had not made an assessment. Profit-taking at the BIST may therefore be seen at the start of the week after Moody's evaluation failed to emerge, given last week's buying trend led by banks amid expectations of a rating increase. However, we think that any sales will amount to a buying opportunity for bank stocks in the medium term due to Turkey's transition to rational policies, the decrease in CDS and the effect of interest rate increases. Expectations that inflation accounting will negatively affect companies, deposit interest rates based at 50%, and increasingly attractive alternative income instruments continue to pressure industrial stocks and the BIST in general. In global markets, risk appetite remains strong with the expectation that interest rate hikes are coming to an end. Last week, major global stock markets rounded off the week with rises of up to 2.5%. While the U.S. and German DAX futures are priced positively this morning, a sell-off is observed in Asian Stock Markets. As data indicating that Fed interest rate cuts are imminent and the statements of Fed members emerge, we expect global risk appetite to remain strong, led by the U.S. Stock Markets. The VIOP-30 Index ended the evening session down 0.11%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Monday with a negative trend, yet seek to maintain the uptrend by following profit sales with selective stock purchases. SUPPORT: 7,940 - 7,855 RESISTANCE: 8,085 - 8,160.
