Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

The BIST-100 Index started Tuesday with a price gap, testing 6,234 with sales at the opening, before recovering to close the day at 6,362.93, up 1.48%. AKBNK, SASA, and TCELL shares led the rise, while the Banking Index increased by 5.05% and the Industrial Index gained 1.13%. It is possible to witness occasional profit realization at the BIST, which has achieved a rapid rise within a short period. However, we expect the negative real interest rate policy, which will continue for some time during the gradual normalization period, to continue supporting the BIST in the short term. In the medium term, we think that market direction will become clear once the steps to be taken and the economic program to be followed are known. In major global stock markets the recovery trend is preserved ahead of the CPI inflation data to be announced in the USA today. The U.S. and European Stock Markets ended Tuesday positively, while the U.S. futures and German DAX futures were buyers this morning, and Asian Stock Markets have seen a mixed course. The VIX hovers near 14 indicating low volatility and selling pressure in the US indices. CPI in the U.S. is expected to decline to 3.1%, thus reducing headline inflation for the 12th month in a row. We think that a CPI print in line with or below expectations will support the recovery in risk appetite. Local industrial production data for May will be announced today on the domestic macro agenda. The market expectation is for industrial production to rise by 2.1% monthly and 1.5% annually in May. We expect an increase of 2.6% monthly and 1.4% annually. The VIOP-30 Index closed the evening session down 0.26%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Wednesday with a slightly positive trend, where after a volatile course will present a profit-taking opportunity. The upward trend will be sustained. SUPPORT: 6,290 - 6,207 RESISTANCE: 6,422 - 6,468.
