Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

The BIST100 Index started Thursday on a negative trend, later recovering to close at 9,833.22, up 0.78%. While the Industrial Index gained 1.45%, the Banking Index rose 0.22%. On a weekly basis, the BIST100 increased by 1.71%, the Industrial Index by 1.02%, and the Banking Index by 1.39%. We observe that in the BIST 100 Index, which recorded an 18% decrease with sales starting from peak levels, purchases intensified in regions where technical indicators point to overselling. The lack of a short-term story is the key pressure point for the BIST. Yet if positive expectations regarding Fitch's Turkey evaluation, expected this Friday evening, are realized a supporting story may emerge. On the global side, while most major stock markets continued their uptrend last week, profit sales were observed at peak levels in some of them. The inflation indicator core personal consumption expenditures data announced in the USA on Friday was slightly below expectations, but supported the Fed's interest rate cut story nonetheless. As long as interest rate cut expectations are maintained, we expect the rising trend in major stock markets to continue. This morning, the U.S. futures are trading negatively, Asian stock markets are mixed, and German DAX futures are trending positively. Today, the U.S. markets will be closed for Labor Day. The VIOP30 Index completed the evening session flat, up 0.03%. We expect the Benchmark Index to start Monday flat, and to continue its fluctuating course thereafter. SUPPORT: 9,750 - 9,500 RESISTANCE: 9,900 - 10,050.
