Outlook:
The BIST100 Index started Friday on a positive trend, maintained its strength throughout the day and closed at 7,470.18, up 1.00%. The Banking Index rose 2.35% and the Industrial Index gained 1.67%. On a weekly basis, while the BIST100 and Banking Index lost 1.16% and 4.82%, the Industrial Index diverged positively, down 0.16%. The BIST-100 Index ended 2023 up 35.6%, but the banking index gained 73.38% overall with a strong positive divergence. The industrial Index diverged relatively negatively, up 29.51% YoY. The Industrial Index gave a negative performance due to expectations that rising interest rates would negatively affect industrial companies in terms of indebtedness and profitability. Banking stocks follow a positive trend due to factors such as the decrease in CDS and expected foreign purchases. In the short term, we foresee interest in the BIST remaining weak given the rising appeal of alternative income instruments and higher stock loan interest rates. For the medium term, we expect pullbacks to present buying opportunities. In global markets, while risk appetite remained strong in the run up to Christmas, transaction volume was limited. This morning, the U.S. futures and German DAX futures are on the rise, while Asian Stock Markets reveal a weak trend. The VIOP-30 Index ended the Friday evening session up 0.12%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark index to start Tuesday positively. Any intraday sales will be viewed as a buying opportunity. SUPPORT: 7,400 - 7,297 RESISTANCE: 7,520 - 7,630.
