TFG Istanbul Morning Report (TFG Istanbul Menkul Değerler )

• The BIST went into the long weekend on a loss of 0.44%, closing at 7907, despite the Banks diverging positively from its peers, whereas the Industrial and Energy stocks weighed down on the benchmark
• Today, we expect a flat opening at the BIST, as the UK inflation rates came in higher-than expected yesterday, dampening the mood şn the global markets.
• Currently, the TRY is trading slight weaker against both the USD and the Euro at 26.72, and 29.34, while the DXY is calm at 103.18. The 2yr Bond rates fell slightly by 3bps to 21.53%, whereas the 10yr rates rose by just 1bps to 19.3%
• On the commodity front, Brent is trading higher at USD 85.20, and both ounce and gram GOLD are continuing their surge upwards, currently at USD 1945 and TRY 1670, respectively.
• On Wednesday, US ADP figures came in lower than market estimates at 177k.
AGENDA:
• On the local front, the 2Q23 GDP growth rate will be released (BBGe: +3.1%), as well as the MPC Summary Report from last week’s meeting, whereas on the international front, the US Weekly Jobless Claims and Personal Spending figures will be followed.
NEWS FLOW:
• KONTR: President Erdogan was the opening of the Pomega Energy Storage and Production factory, emphasizing that the support for these technologies would lower the CAD by around USD 7bn.
• ASTOR: Disclosed signing a USD 9.5mn power supply agreement with KONTR.
• TKFEN: Disclosed the sale of land for TRY 744mn
