Mornıng Report (Trive Yatırım Menkul Değerler )

• The BIST100 managed to continue its positive momentum after a brief pause on Tuesday, to close yesterday 1.78% higher at 7874, and with a much-missed high turnover of TRY 100.2bn.
• The Banks-Conglomerates and Transportation (THYAO and PGSUS), aided in the steep rise in the benchmark, ahead of today’s CBRT Governor’s on-site meeting in New York with investors, and joined online by the Finance and Treasury Minister, hosted by JPMorgan. We are also hearing an increase of local brokers conducting roadshows overseas, as it seems highly-likely that the real influx of foreign institutional clients will start after the March 30th municipal elections.
• Now looking at the BIST30 Advancer and Laggards list, SAHOL-YKBNK and EREGL were the most bought blue-chips, while HEKTS-GUBRF and SASA were the most sold. BIMAS shares also closed negatively, after the shareholder registered to make over 5m shares tradeable at the BIST. HALK and VAKBN shares also faced profit-takings after the previous day’s surge.
• As of print, the TRY is trading a tad weaker against the USD at 29.98, and weaker against the Euro at 32.91, while the DXY is lower at 102.25. On the Bonds’ side, whereas the 2yr rates rose by 26bps to 40.21%, the 10yr rates fell by 24bps to 26.45%. The 5yr CDS rates are currently trading at 303.
• Brent is considerably higher this morning compared to yesterday’s session-closing figure at $77.18, due to increased tension in the Middle East and the Red Sea, while Ounce and Gram GOLD have risen to $2033 and TRY 1960, after the SEC approved the spot bitcoin ETF.
• The Industrial Production fell by 1.4% m/m in November, with a slight annual increase of 0.2%.
• Ahead of Moody’s Sovereign rating decision on Friday, we expect the Banking stocks to perform above its peers on speculations of a note increase, which currently stands at “B3” with a “Stable” outlook.
AGENDA:
• The Weekly Net Foreign STOCK/BOND holding figures will be disclosed on the local front, while the US CPI figures (BBGe: +0.2% m/m; +3.3% y/y) will be the main headline today, as well as the Earnings Figures, and Weekly Jobless Claims numbers.
CORPORATE:
• PGSUS: Disclosed its December 2023 figures. Accordingly, passenger count for December rose by 16% y/y to 2.58mn, thanks to a 20% increase in domestic and 14% annual increase in international passenger count to 1.02mn and 1.56mn, respectively, while the load factor fell slightly to 83.3% from 83.6% y/y.
o On an annual basis, passenger count rose by 19% y/y to 31.9mn, with domestic and international numbers rising by 10% and 24% y/y to 12mn and 20mn, respectively, with load factor increasing annually to 84.8% from 83.6%.
• NETAS: Disclosed during the session yesterday that it signed a $2,696,340 Ran Swap project will TT Mobil.
• AKGRT: Disclosed that it generated December total premiums of TRY 5,039,258, an increase of 112% y/y, and ended 2023 with a premium generation of TRY 27,298,748, an increase of 101%.
• ALARK: Disclosed that it will establish a joint stock company with a capital of TRY 10,000,000.00 (ten million Turkish Liras) to operate in information technology sector and to participate in the said company with 10,000,000.00 Turkish Liras.
