Mornıng Report (Trive Yatırım Menkul Değerler )

• The BIST started the week on a positive note, despite some flirtation in the red-zone, but picking up the gear in the second half of the day, to close 0.76% higher at 8087, and with a turnover of TRY 88.1bn, led by the 2.75% gains in the Banks, while the gains among the remaining sectors, besides the Mining shares, was fairly uniform across the board.
• ODAS (thanks to its subsidiary CANTE’s Venezuela deal)-AKBNK and HEKTS were yesterday’s biggest advancers, while TCELL-EREGL and KRDMD, subsequently faced the biggest retreats.
• As of yesterday’s close, the TRY is trading flat against the USD at 28.92, but weaker against the USD at 31.36 against the Euro, while the DXY is slightly lower this morning at 103.60. The 5yr CDS rates are trading flat at 337.
• On the Commodity front, Brent is trading flat at $78.20 (Saudi Energy Minister stated that the oil cuts could well linger until 1Q24), and ounce and gram GOLD have pared yesterday’s losses to trade at 2033 and TRY 1890, as of print.
• Yesterday, the Turkish November CPI rose 3.28% and 61.98% on a monthly an annual basis respectively, thus lower than the market expectation of 3.8% and 62.8%, respectively, however, accelerating to its highest level this year, despite the slowdown in the pace of the rate. The rising gas prices due to last month’s cold weather, was the largest contributor to inflation with a rise of 11.17% m/m.
• Asian markets are trading negatively this morning on bets that the Fed may not be as aggressively on rate cuts in 2024 as once speculated on.
AGENDA:
• On the local front today, the REER will be disclosed, and beyond our boundaries, the US, Germany and the Eurozone will release their PMI figures, and the Eurozone will also release the PPI figures. The US will also release the JOLTS Job Opening Figures and ISM Services figures.
CORPORATE:
• BTCIM: Parent company Bati Anadolu Group disclosed that it was evaluating the IPO of its subsidiaries.
• ASELS: Disclosed yesterday that it was awarded 2 contracts with Türkiye’s Defense Industry Agency worth $30.3mn and TRY 556.7mn on production and integration of electronic warfare systems for unmanned air vehicles.
• KARSN: Disclosed yesterday that it signed a €44.2mn deal to supply 104 deals to the Italian Consip company.
• SUWEN: Disclosed that it opened 3 stores in Türkiye and 2 abroad.
• TKNSA: The Company will host a roadshow today with foreign institutional clients.
