Outlook:

The BIST 100 Index started Monday on a positive trend, could not maintain its positive outlook and closed the day at 9,645.02, down 0.50%. While the Industrial Index rose by 0.42%, the Banking Index diverged negatively, down 3.28%. We think that the Banking Index, which rose by approximately 40% in a short period of one month and has gained more than 50% since the beginning of the year, may continue to realize profits in the short term. However, medium-term expectations that foreign purchases will be led by banking stocks are maintained. Despite increasing geopolitical tensions and decreasing global risk appetite, the positive outlook remains strong across BIST. Yesterday, the U.S. and European Stock Markets closed the day with increases. This morning, the U.S. futures, German DAX futures and Asian Stock Markets are on the rise. We think that the rise in the major stock markets may be limited and that global markets will continue to find direction with data and statements of Fed members. The VIOP30 Index completed the Monday evening session up 0.10%. Locally, we expect the Benhmark Index to start the day on a positive trend and then try to continue its rise.
