The BIST-100 Index started Monday on a negative trend, shifted to an uptrend thereafter and tested a new historical peak of 4,571. The Index closed at 4,570.20, up 2.14%. While global risk appetite, strengthened by U.S. CPI inflation printing below expectations, continued to lose momentum, major stock markets excluding the U.S. ended Monday with a rise. The latter ended the day down amid profit-taking after the BIST close. The BIST continues to rise, testing new historical peaks with the support of strong balance sheet statements and rallying global risk appetite. Since the BIST is currently the only alternative investment tool among TRY-based assets in a high inflation environment, the uptrend seems set to continue with interim adjustments until the next results season. For the BIST-100 Index, which has achieved a rapid rise of up to 15% since the start of November, we think that the possibility of profit-taking, albeit limited, has increased with the end of the balance sheet period. Yet despite profit sales, the uptrend will continue with the testing of new peaks in the medium term, as decreases present buying opportunities. If higher-than-expected PPI inflation emerges in the USA today it could trigger profit sales in global stock markets. The VIOP-30 Index closed the evening session up 0.41%. Relative to the BIST close, the U.S. and German DAX futures were slightly negative. There is a mixed trend with positive weight among Asian Stock Markets. While the BIST 100 Index is expected to start the day with a rise, we think that this may present a profit-taking opportunity, although such rises should continue throughout the day. SUPPORT: 4,552 - 4,467 RESISTANCE: 4,603 - 4,646.
