The BIST-100 Index started Thursday on a positive note. The Index, amid announcements that the elections would be brought forward, closed the day at 5,116.41, on a sharp decline of 7.37%. The Banking Index diverged negatively, down 9.20%. Technical indicators show that sales and volatility may continue despite reactionary purchases in the BIST-100 Index. Yet, we believe that sharp pullbacks will continue to present buying opportunities for the medium term as the BIST remains a preferable alternative investment tool among TRY-based assets in an inflationary environment, attracting strong domestic investor demand. On the global front there was a positive trend among Asian Stock Markets. The U.S. and European Stock Markets completed the day with losses due to stronger-than-expected ADP private sector employee data. As the Central Banks refer to the data, we think that the Euro Zone CPI data and non-farm employment data to emerge in the USA today will impact risk appetite. The U.S. and German Dax futures were positive this morning, while Asian Stock Markets were slightly up. The VIOP-30 Index closed the evening session negatively. Locally, the Benchmark should start the day amid selling, and reactionary intraday rises could present a profit-taking opportunity.
