Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

The BIST100 Index started Thursday on a positive trend, maintained its strength throughout the day and closed at 7,396.34, up 1.87%. The Banking Index rose by 0.59% and the Industrial Index gained 2.00%. Reactionary purchases are being observed at the BIST, which has fallen sharply since the end of last week. We think that a fluctuating course may be observed due to the renewal of VIOP contracts on the last day of the year. In the short term, interest in the BIST will remain weak given the rising appeal of alternative income instruments and higher stock loan interest rates. Inflation accounting and weak domestic demand expectations weigh on the outlook for the Industrial Index. The Banking Index has a more positive outlook due to factors such as the decrease in CDS and foreign purchases. For the medium term, we argue that sharp pullbacks present buying opportunities. In global markets, risk appetite remains strong. While major stock markets closed yesterday with increases, this morning the U.S. futures and German DAX futures are on the rise, and Asian Stock Markets are mixed. The U.K. stock markets will be open for half a day today. Even though other stock exchanges are open, the data agenda ahead of the New Year is calm, and transaction volume will remain low. The VIOP-30 index completed the evening session down 0.59%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Friday positively and continue the uptrend throughout the day, albeit with low momentum. SUPPORT: 7,345 - 7,202 RESISTANCE: 7,520 - 7,620.
