Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

The BIST100 Index started Wednesday positively, remaining within a narrow band throughout the day; ultimately closing at 9,757.16, up 0.09%. While the Industrial Index rose 0.28%, the Banking Index lost 0.96%. Momentum in the BIST100 Index remains weak. The lack of a short-term story limits the BIST's short-term upward movements. We think that optimism towards the BIST may increase if there are expectations of a rating increase regarding the Fitch evaluation. That is expected to be published on September 6, once the contract transitions in the BIST 100 Index are completed. Note that the Index has retreated approximately 18% from its peak levels. On the global front, U.S. stock markets ended the day negatively, while European stock markets closed mixed. Despite the record-breaking balance sheet of U.S. chip manufacturer Nvidia, U.S. futures are trading negatively this morning. While Asian stock markets are also negative, German DAX futures are trending positively. Most major stock exchanges are trading at historical highs, and yet profit taking is observed. However, as long as interest rate cut expectations are maintained, we expect the rising trend in major stock markets to continue. The second quarter growth data in the USA will be followed today. Data may affect risk appetite. The VIOP30 Index completed the evening session down 0.12%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Thursday flat, and to continue its fluctuating course thereafter. SUPPORT: 9,500 - 9,420 RESISTANCE: 9,900 - 10,050.
