Outlook:
The BIST100 Index started Monday on a positive trend and strengthened its rise in the second half of the day, testing a new peak of 8,008. The Benchmark Index closed the day at 7,941.73, up 2.92%. While the market faced profit-taking after the surprise CBRT interest rate hike, the uptrend continues despite lost momentum with the support of rising domestic investor demand. The expectation that the high inflation and negative real interest rate environment will continue despite the rate hike ensures that the BIST remains without alternative among investment instruments. In addition, foreign interest is expected to continue in the medium term amid the expectation that rational policies will continue given the recent steps taken by the economy management. However, due to the rapid rise of the recent period we foresee periodic profit-taking. This, in turn, will present buying opportunities, unless there is a strong rise in deposit rates after the CBRT interest rate decision and changes in the Currency Protected Deposit. While global risk appetite has been weak for some time, major stock markets ended Monday with reactionary purchases. Relative to the BIST close, the U.S. and German Dax futures were positive. The VIOP-30 Index ended the Monday evening session up 0.13%. There is a positive trajectory among Asian Stock Markets. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Tuesday with a positive trend, with the uptrend continuing as intraday profit-taking leads to buying. SUPPORT: 7,900 - 7,820 RESISTANCE: 8,035 - 8,135
