Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

The BIST100 Index started Wednesday on a positive trend, closing at 7,987.03, down 0.74%. The Banking Index declined by 0.16% and the Industrial Index by 0.10%. While a narrow band movement was observed at the BIST ahead of the CBRT's interest rate decision, we think that direction will become clear once the decision emerges. If rational policies continue, recovery at the BIST will continue in the short term with the positive impact of the ongoing decline in CDS. However, factors such as high deposit/bond interest, limited foreign inflow and high stock loan interest rates curb investor interest. As optimism continues in global markets that the Fed's interest rate hikes have come to an end, major stock markets closed the day with increases yesterday. This morning, the U.S. futures are mixed, and German DAX futures and Asian stock markets are generally bullish. Markets will be closed in the USA and Japan today. In general, we expect economic data, statements from Fed members and geopolitical developments to continue shaping risk appetite. Domestically, the Central Bank's interest rate decision is out today. Both the market's and our expectation are that the policy rate will be increased by 250 points to 37.5%. The emphasis on liquidity management in the market in the decision text will be followed closely. The VIOP-30 Index ended the evening session down 0.04%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Thursday with a limited positive trend and follow a fluctuating intraday course thereafter. SUPPORT: 7,945 - 7,853 RESISTANCE: 8,085 - 8,150.
