Outlook:
The BIST100 Index started Friday positively, thereafter following a fluctuating intraday course to close at 5,490.34, up 1.25%. The Banking Index rose 5.62%, being the driving force of the Index gain. On a weekly basis, while the BIST100 Index yielded 10.14%, the Industrial Index gained a lesser 8.63%, and the Banking Index outperformed, up 12.92%. In the short term, we expect the index rise to continue, where the divergence in stocks with strong balance sheet expectations is likely to prevail. However, volatility will continue ahead of the elections, which are expected to take place on May 14. Risk appetite prevails in major global stock markets. On Friday, the U.S., European and Asian Stock Markets closed with gains. The VIX has regressed to 19, indicating that volatility has decreased. The U.S. futures are priced somewhat negatively this morning, while German DAX futures and Asian Stock Markets are bullish. Domestically, the VIOP-30 Index ended the Friday evening session flat. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Monday positively, and for the uptrend to be maintained as pullbacks in turn present buying opportunities. SUPPORT: 5,444 - 5,302 RESISTANCE: 5,568 - 5,652.
