Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

The BIST100 Index started Friday in negative mood, then followed a fluctuating course throughout the day to close at 11,156.20, up 0.15%. While the Industrial Index lost 0.02% the Banking Index gained 0.78%. On a weekly basis, the BIST100 gained 0.83%, the Industrial Index rose 0.52%, and the Banking Index diverged positively, up 2.03%. Expectations regarding Moody's evaluation remained optimistic at the BIST throughout last week. While the general expectation in the market was for an increase in Turkey's credit rating from B3 to B2 with 'Positive' outlook maintained, there were those who expected a stable, albeit limited, B1 rating. However, Moody's prevented market pricing by increasing the credit rating by 2 notches to B1 and keeping the outlook at Positive. For this reason, we think that optimistic pricing may continue, especially at today's opening. However, on the global front, at the weekend President Biden announced his withdrawal from candidacy in the US elections to be held in November. Following this development, we think that rising political risk regarding those elections may spark fluctuations in global markets. This morning, the U.S. futures and German DAX futures are positive, while Asian stock markets are negative despite the surprise interest rate cut from the Central Bank of China. The VIOP30 Index ended the evening session flat. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Monday positively and continue its rise should intraday profit-taking be encountered. SUPPORT: 11,000 - 10,800 RESISTANCE: 11,250 - 11,500.
