Outlook:

The BIST100 Index started Friday with a decline but later stabilized, ending the day up 1.77% at 9,693.46 with an increased buying spree in the afternoon. While the Industrial Index rose 0.96%, the Banking Index diverged positively gaining 5.08%. On a weekly basis, the BIST100 and Industrial Index fell 1.23% and 1.31%, while the Banking Index diverged positively with a rise of 3.98%. Amid mounting geopolitical tension and reduced global risk appetite, the sell-off at the BIST still remains limited. And despite periodic corrections, medium-term upward expectations for the BIST prevail. Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek and CBRT Governor Karahan, who attended the IMF-World Bank meetings, have given determined messages regarding the disinflation process, whereby the sell-off in the market remained limited. In global markets, rising geopolitical tension and the fact that the first interest rate cut expected from the Fed has been shifted to the September meeting are weakening risk appetite. Last week, major stock markets closed with losses of up to 4%. This morning, US futures, German DAX futures, and most Asian stock markets are up. We think that the rise in major stock markets may be limited and that global markets will continue to find direction from data and statements from Fed members. Domestically, the VIOP30 index completed the evening session with a horizontal positive close of 0.01%. We expect the Benchmark Index to start Monday on a positive note and seek to maintain its rise. SUPPORT: 9,600 - 9,450-RESISTANCE: 9,850 - 10,000.
