Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

The BIST100 Index started Tuesday on a slightly negative trend, attempted a recovery, but closed at 5,251.61, down 0.34%. As the CBRT meeting approached, the Banking Index diverged positively, up 2.37%, while the Industrial Index lost 0.61%. We consider it normal to observe profit-taking after the rapid post-election rise on the expectation of a return to rational macroeconomic policies. We expect the announcements to be made and the steps to be taken in the coming period to guide the markets in the medium-long term. The interest rate decision to emerge from Thurday's Central Bank's meeting and statements to be made thereafter will determine the markets' medium-term direction. Yesterday, the U.S., European, and Asian Stock Markets ended the day with decreases. German DAX futures are slightly positive this morning, while U.S. futures and Asian Stock Markets are generally bullish. The VIX is hovering around 13, indicating low volatility and selling pressure in the U.S. Stock Markets. Domestically, the VIOP-30 index closed the evening session up 0.39%. We expect the Benchmark Index to start Wednesday on a positive trend and to trace a fluctuating course with reactionary purchases thereafter. SUPPORT: 5,162 - 5,100 RESISTANCE: 5,315 - 5,378.
