Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

The BIST100 Index started Thursday on a positive trend, fluctuated between 8,927-9,060 during the day, and completed the day at 9,002.34, up 0.52%. The Industrial Index increased by 1.42% and the Banking Index increased by 1.36%. Yesterday, domestic markets followed the CBRT meeting. The Monetary Policy Committee kept the policy rate constant at 50%, in line with market and our expectations. While the decision text met market expectations, the hawkish tone was maintained and the recent developments in inflation were especially emphasized. Although there is a recovery trend on the BIST side, we think that the volatile course may continue in the short term. On the global side, the European Central Bank meeting was followed yesterday, and the Bank made a 25 bps interest rate cut in line with expectations. Referring to the data, ECB President Lagarde stated that interest rate cuts in the coming period would be decided on based on the data. While European stock markets closed the day with increases yesterday, the U.S. stock markets were mixed. This morning, Asian stock markets and the German DAX futures are positive, while the U.S. futures are following a mixed trend. As long as soft landing and monetary easing expectations are maintained, we expect global risk appetite to remain strong. The VIOP30 Index decreased by 0.18% in the evening session. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Friday flat, and if profit-taking is met with buying support, to continue its upward efforts. SUPPORT: 8,900 - 8,750 RESISTANCE: 9,100 - 9,200.
