Outlook:
The BIST100 Index started Monday on a negative trend and closed at 7,568.30, down 2.61%. The Banking and Industrial Indices fell 3.25% & 2.75%, respectively. While the appeal of alternative investment instruments to the BIST grows with the rise in deposit and bond interest rates, the rise in stock loan interest rates also curbs appetite for the equity market. Geopolitical tension remains localized, and yet Turkey's geographical proximity has recently caused the BIST to diverge negatively from global markets. On the global front, the U.S. Stock Markets ended Monday with mixed trends, while European and Asian Stock Markets followed a positive trend. The U.S. futures remain mixed this morning, the German DAX futures continue to be sellers, and the Asian Stock Markets continue to be buyers, with increasing optimism ahead of the Biden-Xi meeting. Today, global markets focus on CPI data in the USA. The data, which revealed a 3.7% annual rise in September, is expected to see a fall to 3.3% in October. Data above expectations may suppress risk appetite through expectations of the Fed raising interest rates. Inversely, data below expectations may support risk appetite. We also expect statements from Fed members and geopolitical developments to impact risk appetite. The VIOP-30 Index closed the evening session up 0.27%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Tuesday with reactionary purchases. That being said, the Index's fluctuating weak course will continue as rises in turn present selling opportunities. SUPPORT: 7,476 - 7,384 RESISTANCE: 7,688 - 7,785.
