Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

The BIST100 Index started Monday on a positive trend and peaked at 6,290.34. The Benchmark Index moved in a narrow band for the rest of the day and closed at 6,270.41, up 1.35%. The Industrial Index rose by 1.48%, while the Banking Index gained 0.90%. Profit realizations at the BIST, which continues to rise after the election, are quite likely. However, the negative real interest rate policy, which will continue for a while during the gradual normalization period, will remain supportive in the short term. In the medium term, market direction will become clear after the steps to be taken and the economic program to be announced are known. In major global stock markets reactionary purchases were observed yesterday. Meanwhile, a positive trend is observed in U.S. futures, German DAX futures and Asian Stock Markets this morning. We think that the strengthening trend in risk appetite will continue if CPI to be announced tomorrow and PPI to be announced on Thursday in the USA indicate a continued downtrend in inflation. The VIX is at around 15, indicating low volatility and selling pressure in the U.S. Stock Markets. Balance of payments data for May will be announced from the domestic data agenda today. The market expectation is for a current account deficit of USD 6.8 billion. We expect a monthly current account deficit of USD 6.3 billion, below market expectations. The VIOP-30 index closed the evening session up 1.52%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Tuesday with a rise in continuation of the uptrend. SUPPORT: 6,264 - 6,223 RESISTANCE: 6,352 - 6,425.
