Outlook:
The BIST100 Index started Wednesday flat, closing at 7,412.04, down 2.78%. The Banking and Industrial Indices lost 3.18% & 2.99%. Sales at the BIST rose amid ongoing disputes between the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court, and news flow on geopolitical tension originating from Iran. The high return potential of alternative income instruments, the rise in stock loan interest rates, and concerns over inflation accounting, which generally suppress the BIST, also contribute selling pressure. We foresee these risks persisting in the short term. However, banking stocks may diverge positively due to such factors as the decrease in CDS and anticipated foreign purchases. For the medium term, we expect sharp pullbacks to present buying opportunities. In global markets profit sales continued yesterday. This morning, German DAX futures and Asian Stock Markets continue their bearish trend, while U.S. futures diverge positively. As long as interest rate cut expectations are maintained in major global stock markets the rising trend will likely be maintained as declines invite buying. The VIOP-30 Index completed the evening session up 0.08%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Thursday with reactionary purchases. Any intraday purchases will in turn give rise to profit-taking, perpetuating the fluctuating environment. SUPPORT: 7,365 - 7,260 RESISTANCE: 7,530 - 7,620
