Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

The BIST100 Index started Thursday on a slightly negative trend. The Benchmark Index then declined amid afternoon sales to close at 5,261.41, up 2.74%. Stocks of high index weight such as THYAO, EREGL and SASA contributed negatively to the Index. While the banking index rose 1.03% to diverge positively, the Industrial Index lost 2.21%. We expect the positive atmosphere to continue in the short term, with news flow that the Wealth Fund will support its listed companies with the resources to be provided from its companies after company buybacks, plus the rise in the share ratio of PPS contribution funds. However, we expect volatility to continue, with stock and sector-based divergences standing out in the market amid post-earthquake uncertainty. In major global stock markets, risk appetite increased with the explanation from Fed member Bostic that interest rates may be kept constant over the summer months. Yesterday, the U.S. and European Stock Markets ended the day mainly with increases. While the U.S. futures have traded with sellers this morning, German DAX futures and Asian Stock Markets are on a positive course. Domestically, the VIOP-30 Index closed the evening session with a limited decline of 0.11%. We expect the Benchmark Index to start Friday stationary, but the uptrend will likely continue with any intraday retracements presenting a buying opportunity. SUPPORT: 5,180 - 5,090 RESISTANCE: 5,350- 5,478.
